RIP Hiro

Hiro was our cute little teddy bear hampster. He was free from craigslist the night i graduated great life. When we first got him he was really cute and fun to watch in his ball. At first he wasnt too good with how small our apt is, he would run into EVERYTHING in that ball. It didnt take him too long to master the corners and stop hitting things. After a week or so i got brave and decided to hold him (small rodents freak me out) but instead of actually grabbing him i just poked him which i guess was a really bad idea because he would freak out and it made me laugh so i told david to give it a try and Hiro bit him pretty good. After that i was too afraid to pick him up even to put him in his ball, so david did. He got bit a few more times after that.
Milly and Hiro played together pretty well, they would chase each other and they liked to have staring matches, to see who would move first. We discovered Hiro one morning all stuffed underneath his "coverings" i dont know exactly what it is, the stuff we put in the bottom of the cage. He always slept burried underneath it, but he hadnt come out to eat yet, so after a few pokes we discovered he was dead. Probable cause; He froze to death. Apparently hampsters dont like breezes or cold rooms, and we keep our apt pretty cool, i usually cover him with a blanket before bed so he has more heat, but i forgot. Poor guy. So here's to Hiro.

He loved to climb his cage like monkey bars

It entertained Milly too

She teased him by jumping on top of the cage and just staring down at him, thats when he started climbing to the top.

Dont know why the door was down, but we got some good pics of him...

He was posing so well for the camera....

And Milly noticed too, she never knew what to do with him, but this was the closest they ever got! She just smelled him and we closed the door.

Awww, poor hero. The least you could have done is given us his dead body to put it to good use....sorry, that wasn't very nice

In response to your comment to me, actually Hyrum didn't take any of my prego pictures. My sister Shira took the ones of Talea's and Kiersa's pregnancies, and Nial took Hyatt's. They both have an interest in photography. My sister Mel IS a professional photographer, only she does it as a hobby since she stays home with the kids. She lives in N. Carolina, so I can't use her for my photos, dang! Check out her blog, via my blog, to see the amazing photos she takes of her kids. I can't imagine growing up with such amazing photos of myself .

Hey I know this wouldn't replace your cute little Hero but John has a co-worker who's Guinea Pig just had babies and they are ready to be give good homes. She has been trying to get us to take on(and I have to admit they have been really hard to say no too) but you can have it for free, and I bought a book about them so You can have a heads up on thier care and personalities in general. Think about it and let me know.
